On their way to a memorial service for the late Senator John McCain (R-AZ) at the Washington National Cathedral, the McCain family made a brief stop at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial to lay a wreath in honor of the senator who was a Navy aviator and prisoner of war during the Vietnam War. The senator’s wife, Cindy McCain, escorted by Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and White House Chief of Staff General John Kelly, laid the wreath at the site followed by a moment of silence. close
