Governor Doug Ducey (R-AZ) named former Senator Jon Kyl (R) as the replacement for the late Senator John McCain, who died on August 25. The governor told reporters that Mr. Kyl was the “best possible person regardless of politics” and that he would be “prepared to hit the ground running.” Mr. Kyl, who served in the Senate from 1995-2013, said he was committed to serving until January 2019. close
