President Trump spoke to reporters before a briefing from senior military leaders in the White House Cabinet Room. He talked about his support for the proposed new military branch, Space Force, and took questions from reporters on issues he had addressed earlier in the day. He commented again about the explanation from the Saudi Arabian government on the death of Saudi journalist and Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi, and he said again that he would prevent a caravan of migrants moving north through southern Mexico from entering the United States. Due to audio difficulties, this portion of the full event begins about two minutes into the president’s prepared remarks. close
