The Center for Strategic and International Studies hosted a discussion previewing the East Asia Summit, slated for November 14-15, 2018, in Singapore. The panel, which included a number of former U.S. diplomats and foreign policy strategists, talked about President Trump’s decision to not attend the summit, the potential results of the summit for the U.S., and some of the top topics likely to be discussed by other nations. Also talked about were China’s goals in the summit, and the changing relationships between many of the east and southeast Asian nations taking part in the event. close
