Governor Rick Scott (R-FL), candidate for U.S. Senate, held a news conference on the election results in his race against Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL). At the time of this news conference Governor Scott was leading the Democratic incumbent by less than a margin of one-quarter of one percent, small enough to trigger a recount. Governor Scott accused state election officials of fraud and threatened legal action. close
