The Center for American Progress hosted an event to discuss the importance of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program that allows undocumented migrants who arrived in the U.S. as children to stay. The Supreme Court that day was considering the constitutionality of President Trump’s decision to end the Obama administration program. Among the speakers were Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL), Senator Mazie Hirono (D-HI), Representative Nydia Velazquez (D-NY), United We Dream Co-Founder Cristina Jimenez, and Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights CEO Vanita Gupta. Following remarks, event participants marched to the Supreme Court. close
