Dr. Leana Wen, former Baltimore city health commissioner and a visiting professor of public health at George Washington University, discussed the balance between protecting vulnerable populations from infection with the virus that causes COVID-19 and the desire to reopen the nation’s economy. She also answered questions from viewers.

Natalie Andrews, a Wall Street Journal congressional reporter, spoke by telephone about the House of Representatives deciding to return from an extended break to begin work on a new round of legislation aimed at blunting the economic impact of COVID-19 and the associated nonessential business shutdowns brought on by the spread of the virus that causes the disease.

Representative Deb Haaland (D-NM) talked about the COVID-19 response in her district, which includes Albuquerque and other central parts of the state, including a number of Pueblo villages. She also discussed how she was working with other lawmakers and her constituents. close
