Senate Republican leaders held a news conference on the legislative agenda amid the coronavirus pandemic. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said during their weekly party lunches they discussed liability reforms that would provide protection against coronavirus-related litigation for businesses. When asked about the House Democrats' $3 trillion coronavirus relief package, Senator McConnell rejected the proposal, stating, “This is not a time for aspirational legislation. This is a time for practical response to the coronavirus pandemic.” close
