White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany held a briefing on the Trump administration’s agenda, including the government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. At the top of the briefing, she announced additional testing sites in 46 states, including the District of Columbia, and that over $4 billion in additional relief funds had been distributed to nursing home facilities as part of the CARES Act. While taking questions, Ms. McEnany was asked several times about recent tweets from the president regarding the death of Joe Scarborough’s former congressional intern, Lori Klausutis, for which Ms. Klausutis' husband had sent a letter to Twitter’s CEO asking for the president’s tweets to be removed. Though saying “our heart’s are with Lori’s family at this time,” the press secretary asserted that Joe Scarborough was to blame, pointing to a 2003 interview with Don Imus, saying “it was Joe Scarborough and Don Imus who joked about killing an intern, joked and laughed about it.” close
