The Atlantic Council hosted a discussion on the 2020 presidential election and the nominees' foreign policy agendas after the conclusion of the Democratic and Republican conventions. Two former U.S. ambassadors talked about the main foreign policy themes during the conventions, areas of agreement between both parties' platforms, and areas in which Republican and Democratic priorities diverged. The panelists also addressed the importance of the American diplomatic corps in representing the nation’s interest abroad. close
