Scholar Sarah Bell talked about the relationship between the Chautauqua movement and women’s suffrage in the late nineteenth century. She explained how the educational movement evolved from avoiding women speakers in its early days to reguarly including pro-suffrage talks at its branches in Kansas and New York by the early 1900s. The Dwight D. Eisenhower Library and Museum hosted this event and provided the video. close
