President Bill Clinton spoke in a photo opportunity in the Oval Office to announce the appointment of the former ranking minority member of the House Ways and Means Committee as the adviser to the White House on the North American Free Trade Agreement. Flanked by U.S. Trade Rep. Mickey Kantor and other White House personnel, the president and Mr. Frenzel noted the importance of gaining bipartisan support for the passage of the trade agreement.
