Don Oberdorfer and Tom Petit talked about the year 1968 and the impact of the Vietnam War 25 years later. After a brief overview of the Vietnam War in the early part of that year, Mr. Oberdorfer described his experiences in Vietnam and his book on the Tet Offensive. Mr. Petit described his experiences covering politics and as an investigative reporter for NBC including the feeling of the nation and the anti war sentiment that was forming. Later they discussed former Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara announcing his intent to writing a book about the war. Callers asked about the war and civil unrest in the U.S. in that year. close
