The House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Trade met to discuss reauthorization of the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program. Stakeholders testified on the pros and cons of the program that aims to help workers who have lost their jobs or had their hours cut significantly due to increases in foreign trade and imports. The witnesses also made recommendations for improving the program. TAA funding was to expire at the end of June 2021 with congressional action. close
