New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) held a news conference to announce his resignation over sexual harassment allegations. “The best way I can help now is if I step aside and let government get back to governing,” said Governor Cuomo. At the start, he addressed the New York attorney general’s report saying the most serious allegations had “no credible, factual basis.” He then apologized to the women he offended and thanked them for coming forward. Governor Cuomo’s resignation will be effective in 14 days. close
