This panel discussion explores the topic of the impact of the Reagan presidency in the both foreign and domestic policy. It also addresses the issues of Congressional power during the Reagan administration, the question of realignment, the rise of neo-conservatism and corruption in government. Overall, the panelists agree that the Reagan era was sucessful, but that this sucess was based upon factors other than the president’s own decisions. Reagan himself felt comfortable with the politics of avoidance. The panel closes with a discussion of the Bush administration and what its immediate agenda should be. There is some discussion of how the problems which face Bush are a result of the Reagan administration. close
