Committee members heard testimony on the fiscal year 1996 legislative branch budget and support agency reductions. The House and Senate subcommittees, that write Congress’s own budget, held a first-ever joint meeting. They discussed ways to streamline the $2.5 billion legislative budget for 1996. Agencies that are supported by this budget include the General Accounting Office, Government Printing Office and the Office of Technology Assessment. close
