Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment, Ms. Bayer talked about the week’s events in Washington. In the newspaper roundtable, Mr. Neuharth and Mr. Sullivan talked about current news topics, including the Whitewater hearings and the United We Stand America meeting in Dallas this weekend. In the next segment, representatives talked about the 104th Congress thus far. Ms. Landegger talked about the Yugo Next exhibit, which displays Yugo automobiles transformed into pieces of art. Then Mr, Krauthammer talked about his story on ethnic cleansing in the former Yugoslavia. Mr. Aarons talked about his new book, Prayers for Bobby, which deals with a young gay man’s suicide over his sexuality, and his life as a homosexual journalist.
