The House Ways & Means Subcommittee on Human Services Chaired by Representative Clay Shaw, R-Florida, heard testimony on the bipartisan Governors Welfare Reform Proposal recently put forward by the National Governors' Association. At a recent meeting, the nations' governors endorsed changes in the current welfare system. On hand to testify were Governor Tommy Thompson, R-Wisconsin, and Governor Tom Carper, D-Delaware. close
