One year after the United Nations Conference on Women in Beijing, the Interagency Council on Women held a national teleconference on women, girls and their well-being to explore the progress on those issues. First Lady Hillary Clinton and others discussed topics such as health, economic opportunity, education and human rights. Judy Woodruff moderated the event. Women participated from the audience and by telephone, fax and electronically. President Bill Clinton established the Interagency Council on Women to follow up on the United Nations Conference on Women last year. close
