US Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin, Deputy Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, and National Economic Advisor Gene Sperling met with reporters to discuss IRS reform proposals. They discussed increasing taxpayer rights and having more outside oversight of the agency. Mr. Sperling also denied that the administration is considering an energy tax as a response to global warming. close
