Angus Cameron was a Republican and a member of the United States Senate from Wisconsin from 1875 to 1881, when he did not seek reelection, and again from 1881 to 1885, when he was elected to succeed Matthew H. Carpenter, who died in office; he did not seek reelection in 1885. He was born in Caledonia, New York, and went to public schools and to Genesse-Wesleyan Seminary in Lima, New York, which is now Syracuse University. Wikipedia*
