Annalee Newitz is an American journalist and is additionally a writer, broadly, of fiction and other genres. She has written for many periodicals, including 'Popular Science' and 'Wired', and from 1999 to 2008 wrote a syndicated weekly column called 'Techsploitation'. She founded 'other' magazine in 2002 with C.J. Anders, which was published triannually until 2007. From 2008 until 2015, she was editor-in-chief of Gawker-owned media venture io9, and subsequently its direct descendent 'Gizmodo. Wikipedia*
