JOB DURFEE

Job Durfee was an American jurist, born at Tiverton, R. I. He graduated from Brown University in 1813 and was admitted to the bar. In 1814-19 and 1827-29 he was a member of the State Legislature, from 1821 to 1825 he was in the National House of Representatives as a Federalist, and in 1835 he became Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Rhode Island.
