John C. Culver

John Chester Culver was an American politician, writer and lawyer who represented Iowa in both the United States House of Representatives from 1965 to 1975 and the United States Senate from 1975 to 1981. He was a member of the Democratic Party and was the father of Chet Culver, who served as the 41st Governor of Iowa. Wikipedia*
