Lisa Murkowski

Lisa Ann Murkowski is an American politician serving as the senior United States Senator from Alaska, having held that seat since 2002. A member of the Republican Party, she became the state's senior U.S. Senator on January 3, 2009, when Democrat Mark Begich, who had defeated Alaska's recently convicted senior U.S. Senator Ted Stevens in November 2008, took office.
