The agreement raises the limits on both defense and non-defense spending by $131 billion for this year and next, and it continues government funding through March 23. The deal also provides a little more than $89 billion in aid for recent natural disasters, suspends the debt limit through March 1, 2019, extends several tax breaks that expired and continues the children's health insurance program called CHIP. The House passed the measure 240-186.
