Panelists talked about the future of NATO and how the proposed expansion will impact the alliance. They also talked about the effect on Bosnia, Russia and the Persian Gulf region. Views expressed an enthusiasm and optimism for the expansion from NATOs perspective. The case against the expansion considers the unanimous Russian Duma’s resistance to the proposal and good faith understanding that after the Soviet forces withdrew from Germany, there would not be any expansion after Germany was allowed to join the alliance. close
