Mr. Bell maintained that Judge Bork’s judicial philosophy and his views of constitutionally specified individual liberties were appropriate and that Bork was “principled and rational . . . not a radical.” Bell joined former White House counsel Lloyd Cutler as high-ranking Carter administration officials supporting the Bork nomination. close
