Senator Strom Thurmond (R-SC) spoke at the National Press Club (NPC) on its 90th anniversary. He reflected on the events of the past century and the importance of U.S. influence in the future. He also took questions from the audience of reporters. Founded in 1908 by just thirty two journalists The National Press Club had over four thousand members by 1998. Following his remarks, Sen Thurmond took questions from the audience as moderated by NPC Chairman Bill McCarren. close
