The committee resumed hearings on NATO defense under the INF treaty. Also the committee reports on the acceptance of nominees Grant S. Green, Jr., of Virginia as Assistant Secretary of Defense for Force Management and Personnel; J. Daniel Howard of Tennessee as Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs, and 5,253 nominees accepted to the four branches of the armed services. The committee debated a draft resolution, S. Res. 367, asking for expense funds for the committee. close
