Former Energy Secretary Federico Pena briefed reporters on U.S. national energy strategy and the prospects for summer gasoline prices. The strategy document called for energy sources other than oil, such as nuclear and natural gas, the development of more renewable energy sources and more energy efficient technologies in industries which were large consumers of energy products. He also said that low gasoline prices should contribute to record amounts of motor travel by U.S. citizens this summer. He and the other officials also took questions from the audience of reporters. close
