Mr. Bauer spoke about the importance of moral concerns in U.S. foreign policy. He said that the U.S. should use its power to promote freedom, that foreign and domestic policy are intertwined and that foreign trade is not the primary goal of diplomacy. He also said that President Reagan stressed these objectives and criticized current foreign policy-makers who have forgotten these lessons. After his remarks, he took questions from the audience. close
