Participants briefed state legislators on the current state of the tobacco settlement. They analyzed the original settlement with the legislation currently pending in the U.S. Senate on several levels, including the legal issues, public health standards, tobacco industry payments and reduction of teen smoking. They also provided varying perspectives, from the attorneys general, the tobacco industry, to public health advocates, on the settlement. close
