As part of the Festival of Books, a panel of authors discussed the past, present and future of civil rights in the U.S. The festival was sponsored by the Los Angeles Times and is an annual event. Panelists talked about the effect the civil rights movement of the 1950s and 60s had on the nation and the legacy it has left for today’s civil rights activists. Following their individual presentations, the authors answered questions from the audience. close
