The National Governors' Association Committee on International Trade was given a report on Tariff and International Trade. Several speakers spoke before the Committee. Ambassador Carla Hill, U.S. Trade Representative, spoke to the Committee on the growth in the United States and the challenges that we face in the 1990. Representative Thomas Luken, D-Ohio, spoke to the Committee on discussion on tourism trade. Curtis Kamman, Deputy Assistant Sec. of State for Soviet Union & Eastern Europe, spoke to the Governors' on assessment of the opportunities presented by the current events in Eastern Europe and how the Governors can effectively respond to opportunities there. The speakers answered Governor questions. close
