Prime Minister Blair answered questions from members of the House of Commons. He responded to the announcement of a positive economic forecast by the Chancellor of the Exchequer Brown in his pre-budget statement. He commented on whether or not Great Britain would eventually adopt the Euro, the single currency to be shared by other European Union nations beginning in eight weeks. Questions then turned to the Jenkins report, a study of Britain’s electoral system of proportional representation, released last week. The report which calls for reform to the system received mixed reviews from members of Parliament. close
