The Face of Russia
Author James Billington discussed his book The Face of Russia: Anguish, Aspiration, and Achievement in Russian Culture. The book described the evolution of art in Russia from medieval times to the modern era. He stated the Russians have taken art forms from other sources and then turned it into their own unique form. After his prepared remarks, questions were taken from audience. He autographed copies of the book and continued to speak to those who attended the event. close
