In the series of Supreme Court Review, Ruth Marcus, Supreme Court Reporter from The Washington Post discussed the results of various Court decisions, as well as her views from a journalist’s perspective. Among those topics covered were the Court’s recent decisions regarding death penalties, a decision striking down a Florida law requiring silence from grand jury participants, a suit concerning the clean air act (GMC v. U.S.), a question over whether state governors or the president have control over the National Guard (Perpich v. U.S.), and a case involving minority ownership in broadcasting. Also discussed was the appearance made by former Supreme Court nominee, Robert Bork, as he argued Citibank v. Wells Fargo, a case about the liability of American banks to their depositors in overseas branches when foreign governments seize those assets.
