Middle East experts discussed the impacts which military strikes and economic sanctions had had on Iraq’s military and civilian infrastructure. They argued that little of real value was accomplished by military strikes because it emboldened the Iraqi government and effectively ended any hope for renewed weapons inspections. They also said that the U.S. should support the lifting of sanctions against Iraq to promote regional stability. After their remarks the answered questions from the audience. close
