Mr. Davis talked about his book Lincoln’s Men: How President Lincoln Became Father to an Army and a Nation, published by Free Press. It is the story of the relationship between President Lincoln and Union soldiers reconstructed from letters and diaries between the soldiers and the man they called "Father Abraham". After his speech, the author signed books for the audience. This was a regular meeting of the North Shore Civil War Round Table, held at the Book Revue Bookstore. close
