Sandy Berger outlined the events from President Bill Clinton’s trip to Honduras and Guatemala to review progress made in the region’s recovery from Hurricane Mitch. He said the president felt it was both a moral responsibility and in the economic interest of the United States to assist in building a new infrastructure for the region. After his remarks, Maria Echaveste, Peter Romero and Major General John Maher answered questions from reporters. close
