Premier Zhu said that he felt his trip to the U.S. was a success, and that he felt that he had made good progress in negotiating entrance into the World Trade Organization. He also said that although there were “minor difficulties” in U.S.-China relations they were not insurmountable. Among the other issues he addressed were an agriculture agreement between China and the U.S., opening China’s telecommunications industry, and cooperation in the banking and financial markets. Translation into English was performed by an interpreter. close
