Olympic Site Selection Process Witnesses testified about the controversy sparked by revelations that favors and improper gift-giving secured Salt Lake City’s bid for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. The first panel testified about the measures taken to investigate the scandal and recommended that the International Olympic Committee (I.O.C.) undergo major structural change. They also talked about steps taken to reform the U.S. Olympic Committee. Mr. Hybl then described the steps the organizers of the Salt Lake games had taken in light of the scandal.
