Author Paul Barrett talked about The Good Black, a True Story of Race in America, published by E.P. Dutton. His book tells the story of Harvard-educated attorney Lawrence Mungin, who sued his law firm for racial discrimination after suffering what he felt was unfair treatment. Mr. Barrett, Mr. Mungin’s roommate at Harvard and a Wall Street Journal reporter, explained how Mr. Mungin was eager to leave behind his upbringing in Queens, New York, to become “a good Black,” but was equally as eager to manipulate his discarded ethnicity. close
