In an analysis of the forces reshaping the economy at home and abroad, Mr. Greenspan said the ability of businesses to use rapid advances in computers and communications to hold down costs had helped hold down price increases, bolster the stock market and allow the economy to grow robustly. He warned, however, that the economy could still be derailed by inflation. After his remarks he answered questions from the audience. close
