Senators and council members released a report on the performance of the TV ratings system enacted in 1987. They said that the system has serious flaws and that some networks have used the ratings system to actually increase the sexual and violent content on their shows, and showed a video compilation of shows to prove their point. The council challenged the television industry to “clean up its act” by complying with the “spirit” of the system. close
