The House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Europe & the Middle East met and discussed the annual State Department’s Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Compliance Report. The report detailed whether PLO Chairman Arafat met conditions that would allow the U.S. to recognize his organization. The U.S. agreed to enter into official discussions with the PLO if its chairman would renounce terrorism. close
