Committee members heard testimony from current and former members of congress and others regarding federal subsidization of business. Witnesses claimed that small businesses are not offered as much federal support as larger firms, and that programs like the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, which provide financial support and protection to larger firms, are also receiving an inordinate amount of federal support. Solutions proposed include abolishing all federal subsidization and establishing a commission to recommend changes to congress. close
