The House sustained the President’s veto of H.R. 770, which would entitle employees to family and medical leave in certain cases. The House continued consideration of H.R. 3950, the “Food and Agricultural Resources Act of 1990” but came to no resolution. The House agreed to ten amendments, and rejected two amendments. The Walsh (R-NY) amendment to reduce dairy surpluses, was adopted. The Madigan (R-IL) amendment to amend loan rates for grain, was rejected. The Glickman(D-KS) substitute amendment for the sale of wheat, was rejected. The Schumer (D-NY) amendment to set income limits on grain purchases, was rejected. close
